Personal Power
Responsible 4 Feet
May 18th, 2010
The energy of a human being extends 4 feet around him. Which means if you're spending all your time next to negative people, their energy will intermingle with yours and have an effect on you.
Does this mean you should go around judging everyone, putting on a space suit before you leave the house? No. But it does mean it's in your best interest to have good judgment about the people you're allowing into your life.
Today, think about where you're being negatively effected, and where you're negatively effecting others. That's responsibility.
Make that Imagination Achievable
May 13th, 2010From Muhammad Yunus: Make people believe that we can send poverty to museums. When I talk about it, people laugh and say, "It's impossible".
But when you don't believe something, you can't achieve it. You have to imagine, and make that imagination achievable.
Words Are Powerful
April 14th, 2010
Words have tremendous power to heal & bless, and terrible force to harm & curse.
Our intention determines all. That's why it's important to consider the person with whom we are speaking and to know where our heart is.
Today, think before you speak. Be in control of every word that leaves your mouth. Use your words as a force for helping people.
Ego Will Diminish Anything We Do
March 25th, 2010The most important lesson to learn is that ego - the need to be known and recognized for our actions and work - will diminish anything we do.
Scream for Control
March 25th, 2010Why do we yell at one another? In a word, fulfillment. Raging at someone gives us a quick, deep fulfillment. For a moment, we are in control. But like a drug, it goes away, and we need the next hit of anger to get us back in shape.
Today, when you want to yell - restrict. That's not to say you should stuff your anger. But it is to say, don't dump it on those around you.
We All Matter
March 16th, 2010
Some of us think too much of ourselves, while others think too little. The truth is, we all have our unique purpose in this world. The key is not to see ourselves as above, or below, anyone else.
We all matter.
Today, enjoy your place in the world. There will never be another YOU.
Greedy Eyes
December 10th, 2009When we look at a position in our lives, our first thought is, “How am I going to get the best out of this situation for myself alone?” We look at it with greedy eyes.
We now need to understand that our thoughts motivate reality. When we look at the world with selfishness, this negativity gets projected out into the cosmos.
MOSES THE SHEPHERD
June 3rd, 2009Every night when I put my daughter Miriam to sleep, she asks for a story. I told her this one a few nights ago. I’ve read it many times before, yet it impacted me in a way different than ever before.
The story is about the Baal Shem Tov, a great soul and righteous person, who was told through divine inspiration about a person whose spiritual work was greater than his. His name was Moses the Shepherd.
The great master was eager to meet this person, so he gathered a few students and mounted a carriage to the village, not too far away.
